DHL/Argos
DHL are the logistical operators for Argos, and they needed help handling white goods.
A BREAKTHROUGH IN PORTABLE LIFTING EQUIPMENT FOR DELIVERY DRIVERS
The Problem
DHL approached us with issues handling white goods, as their demountable trucks and lorry trailers had no tail lifts across the fleet, and no means to install an electrical solution.
The client required a suitable lifting solution to minimize manual handling and the risk of injury when making deliveries.
the solution: VanMate for appliances
We set about creating an evolution of our existing technology and developed a modified version of VanMate.
VanMate is fundamentally modular, so we wanted to ensure that this version was just as lightweight and portable as our previous itera-tions without compromising in quality or capability.
VanMate for Appliances benefits from:
• A widened wheel-base trolley to accommodate the appliance widths and ascend/descend a standard roadside kerb.
• Α higher list mast system, capable of listing and lowering a load of up to 135kg by 1200mm.
• Α removable shuttle attachment with a flat platform and integrated ratchet strap.
Trialling
The result is a single piece of equipment that loads, unloads and transports goods from the vehicle to the customer and back with little to no manual physical exertion from the operator. A more cost effective solution than that of a tail lift or similar alternative.
